CubicGaugeMeasure. Calculate. Get it right.

Concrete Calculator

Enter your project dimensions to estimate concrete in cubic yards and bags. Choose a project type and add an ordering allowance or local price if needed.

Your measurements

Adds extra material for uneven subgrade, form variation and minor losses.

Advanced options

Normalweight concrete is commonly around this density; actual mix density may vary.

Bag yields vary by product. The manufacturer's label or data sheet takes precedence.

Your concrete estimate

Order approximately

—yd³
—Calculated geometric volume
—Recommended order quantity
—Bag equivalent · buy count rounded up
—Approximate order weight

Planning estimate only. Bag yield, density, supplier practices and project conditions vary. Confirm quantities with your supplier; this is not an engineering specification.

For a slab-specific workflow, use the Concrete Slab Calculator. Also see the Cubic Yard Calculator and calculation methodology.

Measure the supported shape

  • Slab: enter length, width and thickness.
  • Rectangular footing: enter its length, width and depth; use quantity for identical footings.
  • Round column or pier: measure the diameter and height, then enter the number of matching columns.
  • Post holes: measure hole diameter and depth, and enter the hole count.

Measure each distinct section once. For multiple sections with different dimensions, enter them separately rather than overlapping their footprints.

Worked round-column example

One 2 ft diameter round column, 5 ft tall, with a user-selected 10% allowance: geometric volume is 15.71 ft³ (0.58 yd³); adjusted order volume is 17.28 ft³ (0.64 yd³). At a selected 0.60 ft³ label yield, the engine rounds up to 29 whole 80 lb bags. The allowance is optional, not a required quantity.
